CEU Launches SINTA Hub in Partnership with DOST-PCHRD

Centro Escolar University recently held the inception meeting of its newest initiative, the CEU SINTA Hub (Sentro ng Inobasyon Tungo sa Agham Pangkalusugan), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD). The meeting brought together key representatives from both CEU and DOST-PCHRD to lay the groundwork for this promising endeavor.

The term SINTA, which translates to “love” or “affection” in Filipino, reflects the hub’s spirit of passion and commitment toward advancing innovation in the field of Allied Health Sciences. Beyond its acronym, which stands for a center of innovation, knowledge, and technology, SINTA represents a heartfelt dedication to fostering meaningful advancements that benefit health and well-being.

The CEU SINTA Hub aims to establish a nurturing environment that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship. Through access to resources, mentorship, and collaborative opportunities, the hub seeks to inspire the development of groundbreaking ideas and practical solutions that can create a lasting impact in the health sector and beyond. This initiative aligns with CEU’s vision of contributing to national development through science and technology, particularly in health research.

Present during the inception meeting was Dr. Julieta Dungca, Project Leader and Dean of the CEU School of Science and Technology; members of the CEU Administrative Council, Dr. Teresa R. Perez, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Erna V. Yabut, Vice President for Research, Innovation and Institutional Development and Corporate Information Officer; and along with the CEU Project Staff. Representing DOST-PCHRD were Mr. Vincent John Tumlos, PCHRD-IPTM Team Leader and Senior Research Specialist; Ms. Sharia Ingrid Ramirez, Science Research Specialist II; and Ms. Geraldine Bea Pimentel, Project Officer.

As part of its initial phase, the CEU SINTA Hub is opening opportunities for skilled Project Technical Assistants who will support its programs. These are project-based positions for a duration of 12 months, with a salary grade corresponding to DOST Project Technical Assistant IV. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their resume to [email protected] or [email protected]. For inquiries, they may also contact (02) 8735-9403 or (02) 8735-6002.
