CEU School of Dentistry Claims Hall of Fame Award in Sportsfest 2026

Centro Escolar University’s School of Dentistry received the Hall of Fame Award after earning its sixth consecutive championship in the CEU Sportsfest. The award was given during the Closing Ceremonies held at the campus’ Tech Center Gym.

To qualify for this award, the School has to win for five straight years and secure a sixth victory. The second rank will then be declared the overall champion. For this year, CEU Makati has taken the spot as champion.

In the overall rankings, the School of Optometry secured second place, followed by the School of Nursing in third. The School of Medical Technology placed fourth, while the School of Science and Technology came in fifth. Completing the list were the School of Pharmacy in sixth, the School of Accountancy and Management in seventh, the School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management in eighth, and the School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music, and Social Work in ninth.

Beyond overall standings, the Sportsfest showcased excellence across various events. The School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management led the Parade competition, while representatives from the School of Medicine, CEU Makati, and the School of Medical Technology shared second place. Individual honors were also awarded, with Nazer Gabriel of the School of Optometry named Mr. Sportsfest 2026 and Crystal Dam of the School of Pharmacy crowned Ms. Sportsfest 2026.

The School of Dentistry further demonstrated its dominance, clinching championships in swimming and aero marathon. In volleyball, both the men’s and women’s teams from the School of Dentistry emerged victorious, supported by a roster of standout players who earned multiple special awards, including Most Valuable Player honors for Earl Andrew Naval and Jia Mae Matote.

On the basketball court, the School of Dentistry continued its winning streak, capturing the men’s championship title. Muhammad Khaer Gaeb Omar led the team with a Most Valuable Player award, while teammate Ira George Arcilla secured a spot in the Mythical Five alongside top players from other schools. Meanwhile, CEU Makati claimed the Esports championship.

The CEU Sportsfest 2026 opened at the Marikina Sports Center, gathering students, faculty, and staff in a vibrant display of unity and school pride. Spearheaded by the School of Nursing with Dean Elvira L. Urgel and Assistant to the Dean, Mr. Erljohn Gomezas as overall chair, the event carried the theme “Sama-Saya sa Palakasan: Sportsfest 2026,” emphasizing camaraderie as much as competition. The responsibility of hosting next year’s Sportsfest has been entrusted to the School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management led by Dr. Cecilia C. Uncad.
