Centro Escolar University School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management in collaboration with the CEU Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) conducted a 3-Part Webinar Series on Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition on July 8 and July 15, and 29 from 10:00am to 12:00nn via Zoom.
For three consecutive Fridays, the webinar spearheaded by the Nutrition and Dietetics Department with the Philippine Association of Nutrition-Delta Chapter focuses on the amorphous discipline of functional medicine and its linkage to nutrition students taking up science-based courses, as well as professionals and practitioners. The series takes a deep dive into several nutrition-related diseases and conditions with the goal of further emphasis on the strong nexus between functional medicine and nutrition.
To discuss the topics on Functional Medicine and Nutrition Approach for Optimizing Immune System (Part 1); Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition Approach for Stress, Anxiety and Mood Imbalances (Part 2); and Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition Approach for Weight Management (Part 3) are Dr. Denise Marie Herrera Lavilles, Functional Medicine Clinician, Life Science Center and Mr. Joemarc Dela Cruz, Nutritionist-Dietician Supervisor/Functional Medicine Nutritionist, Life Science Center-Romlas Health Group.
Allied health science students, nutrition and dietetics graduates and faculty, and practitioners joined the webinar series, where e-certificates were issued to the participants after completing the 3-part webinar.
