Master of Arts in Education (Special Education)

Program Description

The Master of Arts in Education, Major in Special Education (MAEd-SPED) is a graduate program designed to develop expert educators, leaders, and advocates in the field of special education. This program equips professionals with advanced knowledge in assessment, curriculum modification, individualized instruction, and inclusive education practices.

Emphasizing evidence-based teaching strategies, policy analysis, and research, the program prepares graduates to create and implement effective learning interventions for individuals with disabilities. Coursework covers diagnostic assessment, behavior management, assistive technology, and program individualization, ensuring graduates can address diverse learning needs.

Through practicum experiences and research opportunities, students refine their professional practice and contribute to the advancement of inclusive education. By the end of this program, graduates will be highly competent special education practitioners equipped with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capacity to foster inclusive, equitable, and high-quality learning experiences for students with additional needs.
