CEU Provides Assistance to Affected Families of Recent Calamities and Pandemic

On the belief that “No exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”, Centro Escolar University provided assistance to affected families of recent calamities and the pandemic.

The Community Outreach Department spearheaded a donation drive for St. Paul University of the Philippines Foundation, Relief Operations and Recovery Program which benefitted 3,000 families who were victims of Typhoon Ulysses and massive flooding in Cagayan.

The CEU Pharmacy Alumni Association led by its President, Mr. Oscar Jr. Ocampo with Dr. Olivia Limuaco, Vice President of CEU Makati through their generous sponsor, Ms. Joann Sy from the Circles Care International Foundation, gave 240 sacks of rice and 240 bagfuls of groceries to jeepney drivers who ply the Gastambide-Morayta-Divisoria routes.

This P500,000 worth of assistance for the drivers is part of the P1M donation of Ms. Joann Sy to those who are affected by the pandemic. The P250,000 was used to buy computer tablets and were given to 30 students in the three CEU campuses. Personal protective equipment worth Php250,000 were also endorsed to government hospitals where CEU has many working alumni.
