Centro Escolar University Social Arts students joined six artists form Urban Sketchers Manila for a Sketchwalk to put into drawings some of the famous spots within the campus on October 19, 2019 in CEU Manila.
Before the team from Urban Sketchers Manila wandered around the campus, they briefly shared with the students what urban sketching is all about. Given their motto, “We show the world, one drawing at a time”, the artist community mainly draws on location, both indoors and outdoors using any kind of media.
As for CEU, they illustrated the statue of Doña Librada Avelino, one of CEU’s founders, the CEU Centennial Legacy Monument called “Pangarap at Tagumpay”, and the CEU Center Gate.The Art Appreciation classes under the supervision of Mr. D’Ariel Javellana, Head, Social Arts Program also showcased their artistic skills in sketching with their own style and medium. Some faculty and non-teaching staff also participated in the said activity.
CEU President and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Ma. Cristina Padolina, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Teresa Perez commended the participants’ sketches.
