Centro Escolar University ranked 195th in the list of the Global Top 500 Innovative Universities for the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
The University also landed in the Top 100 for 11 categories, including: Rank 21 in AI-Based Teaching and Learning Transformation; Rank 34 in Financial Impact-Driven Technology Transfer; Rank 35 in Representative Research Project; Rank 43 in Culture/Values; Rank 45 in Digital and AI Transformation in Strategy and Management; Rank 49 in SDG- and ESG-Based Responses to Past and Present Global Challenges; Rank 52 in Future-Oriented Responses to Global Uncertainty and Geopolitical Risk; Rank 58 in Student Support and Engagement; Rank 73 in Visionary Leadership; Rank 86 in Student Mobility and Openness; and Rank 100 in Ethics and Integrity.
For the third consecutive time, CEU has secured a top spot in this prestigious global ranking reaffirming its strength and excellence in innovation. CEU ranked 268th in 2024 and 259th in the previous year.
Spearheading the team’s efforts are Dr. Teresa Perez, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Erna Yabut, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Institutional Development and Corporate Information officer; Dr. Rhoda Aguilar, University Registrar; and Dr. Jean Ramirez, Head of Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, whose leadership and collaborative initiatives continue to strengthen the University’s academic and institutional goals.
The WURI assesses how higher education institutions contribute to industry and society through innovative education, research, and community engagement. Through its 24 categories, it evaluates the goals and methods of innovation to measure schools’ creative contributions on societal development. The ranking recognizes institutions that excel in innovation and encourages continuous improvement in education and society.
