The Centro Escolar University-Professional and Continuing Education (CEU-PACE) will hold a training for Senior High School Teachers on Media and Information Literacy this coming November 18-20, 2016 at the CEU-Manila Librada Avelino Hall (LAH) Seminar Room 2.
The three-day seminar aims to analyze the current trends in communication and mass media, to read and understand critically mass media contents, and to apply their learning and skills in teaching communications and mass media literacy subject.
The CEU Mass Communication Department designed the training on Media Literacy Program in response to CHED Memo No. 9 series of 2016 which was approved by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for implementation to ensure that K to 12 program meets demands of quality teachers for the new specialized subjects.
Seminar workshop speakers will be Mr. Ricky Rosales, who is a News Anchor on DZMM Teleradyo and Mass Communication Program Head of CEU-Manila; Mr. Ramon R. Tuazon, President of Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication and Secretary General for Asian Media Information and Communication Centre; Ms. Cecille Suerte Felipe, Reporter and Regular Staff of Philippine Star and Part-time Faculty of CEU; Ms. Melinda Tormes-Quiñones, Senior Information Officer of Philippine Information Agency (PIA); Mrs. Julianne Domingo, Writer/Program Analyst on Creative Communications Team on APT Entertainment, Inc.; and Mr. Francis Mark Dulay Faulve, Field Correspondent/Producer/Writer of ABS-CBN.
Senior High School teachers handling Media and Literacy from private Higher Education Institiutions (HEI’s), State Universities and Colleges (SUC’s) and Local Universities which the Department of Education has granted authority to offer SHS in line with CHED memo order nos. 32 and 33 series of 2015 are encouraged to participate.
