Centro Escolar University Professional and Continuing Education (CEU-PACE) will conduct Modified CHED Second Generation General Education (GE) Faculty Training in the Teaching of the New General Education Core Courses on its Manila campus on October 16-21, 2017 and October 23-28, 2017 for CEU Malolos.
The 6-day trainings aim to orient faculty participants about the philosophy of liberal education, away from the strictly disciplinal and remedial thrust of the old GE courses, to enable the faculty participants to teach the interdisciplinary GE courses using the new materials, and to recognize, share and disseminate best practices in general education.
Both trainings will cover courses in Filipino and English such as Art Appreciation/Pagpapahalaga sa Sining, Ethics/Etika, The Contemporary World/Ang Kasalukuyang Daigdig, The Life and Works of Rizal/ Ang Buhay at mga Akda ni Rizal, Mathematics in the Modern World/Ang Kasalukuyang Daigdig, Purposive Communication/Malayuning Komunikasyon, Readings in Philippine History/Mga Babasahin hinggil sa Kasaysayan ng Pilipinas/Science and Technology, and Society/Agham, Teknolohiya, at Lipunan, and Understanding the Self/Pag-unawa sa Sarili.
As per CHED Memorandum Order No. 69, faculty to be trained will undergo the GE courses using the CHED-developed syllabi in English and Filipino for the GE core courses via face-to-face mode.
