After almost 15 years of drought, Centro Escolar University’s School of Accountancy and Management (SAM) nabbed this year’s Sportsfest Overall Championship title as announced during the closing ceremony held at the Student Activity Center last August 18, 2017.
With a total of 91 points, the School of Accountancy and Management bested the other teams from the different schools. The School of Dentistry ranked second with 86 points followed by the School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management with a close score of 85.5. Garnering a total of 78.5 points, CEU Makati landed 4th while the School of Medical Technology grabbed 5th spot with 60.5 points. The next rankings were taken by the School of Optometry, School of Pharmacy, School of Science and Technology, School of Education-Liberal Arts-Music-Social Work, and School of Nursing, respectively.
The Senior High School Departments from the three University campuses were the participants for the Laro ng Lahi. CEU Malolos was awarded 1st place, seconded by CEU Makati, then CEU Manila.
The School of Accountancy and Management received a trophy and all schools were awarded with banners, while the winners of the different sports events were given individual medals.
Dr. Julieta Z. Dungca, Dean of School of Science and Technology, expressed her heartfelt thanks to the people who helped in making the whole event a success as she turned over the chairmanship to CEU Makati through Dr. Maria Corazon Andoy, Head of the Student Affairs Office.
