Centro Escolar University alumna, Dr. Joserine Samson was named the First Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) in the Middle East and Philippines.
Dr. Samson satisfied the Academic Committee of the British Contact Lens Association with her recognition in the field of contact lenses.
This Eye Specialist is a CEU graduate of Doctor of Optometry in 1996 and passed the licensure examination on that same year. She took Bachelor of Science in Nursing and successfully passed the board exam.
As both Specialty Contact Lens Practitioner and an Orthokeratologist for Gulf Eye Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, she has been practicing her field more than 20 years. She fits and designs Specialty Contact Lenses such as corneal, hybrid and scleral RGP lenses for irregular corneas and high refractive errors, prosthetic contact lenses. She also serves pediatric patients including those who had undergone cataract surgery without intra-ocular lens placement.
Dr. Samson is a proud member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control and Scleral Lens Education Society.
Besides her advocacy in creating awareness, control and manage progression of Myopia among children, she also fits and designs Orthokeratology lenses. She also gives lectures and trainings to her fellow optometrists and ophthalmologists not just in the Middle East, but in Southeast Asia, too.
