Centro Escolar University welcomed its new batch of freshmen students during the University Orientation on August 13, 2021 livestreamed via the CEU official Facebook and Youtube accounts.
The enthusiasm of Michaela Flores, University Student Council (USC) President and Pamela Corpuz, USC 1st Vice President, who are the event’s hosts set the mood of the program to make the new Escolarians feel alive and engaged even on online.
The program began with the welcome message of CEU President and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Ma. Cristina D. Padolina. “The opening of classes is a time for celebration. We celebrate your decision, your resolve and that of your parents’ and guardians’ to continue your education, to work for your future not withstanding the challenges of the present,” she said.
With the CEU LEAPS (Learning Engagement and Proficiency System) designed thoroughly by the University and the trained teachers, Dr. Padolina assured the students of a safe, effective and holistic learning experience. She acknowledged that the School Year 2021-2022 will not be easy, but she knows that these difficult times can be turned into opportunities for learning and to cultivate values like “patience, perseverance, resoluteness and resilience”.
To guide them as to who to look for when they have particular concerns, the members of the CEU Administrative Council, Manila, Malolos, and Makati Coordinating Councils, and the Support Services were introduced through videos.
The hosts also led interactive question and answer session during the event which was actively participated in by the freshmen. They were also given personalized Escolarian badge which they can post online using the official hashtag #FlexYourEscolarianBadge. Ten lucky winners with the best caption on why they chose CEU were posted on the CEU official Facebook account.
This event was made possible through the Student Affairs Office led by Dr. Carlito Olaer with the University Student Council Officers.
