CEU’s Janine Pontejos is First WNBL Season’s MVP

Centro Escolar University’s alumna and athletics pride, Janine Pontejos was named first-ever Most Valuable Player for the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) Season 1 playing for the Taguig City Generals team at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Despite her team not being able to grab the title, Pontejos was able to score 21 points during the team’s final game against PSI-Force.

In 2018, Pontejos brought pride to the country when she earned gold for the FIBA World Cup 3x3 Shootout contest.   She also gained numerous achievements in different sports leagues back when she was a varsity player of CEU.
