Centro Escolar University Lady Scorpions were hailed Champion in the 47th Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA) basketball tournament, as their 6th straight title, held last November 20, 2016 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Team Lady Scorpions retained the crown after an 82-42 win over the Philippine Women’s University Patriots.
Aside from bringing home the title, Tin Tin Caranto, was also named as this season’s Most Valuable Player, while Lawan Mercy was one of the Mythical Five.
WNCAA, the country’s first and only tri-level league for women will resume next year with badminton, cheerdance, cheerleading, poomsae, softball, swimming, taekwondo and table tennis events.
