Bachelor of Special Needs Education

Program Description

Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd)  is a four-year program that prepares aspiring students to become competent teachers to work with children and youth with additional needs. This degree program will enable its graduates to teach subjects in a regular and inclusive educational setting while addressing the learning concerns of students with additional needs. It also takes into consideration the various laws and international agreements, especially the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, on quality education for persons with special educational needs. Students in this course are trained and equipped with specialized skills such as basic sign language, braille making, and reading to ensure that they will be able to cater to the diverse needs of their future learners. The program culminates with an extensive teaching internship in various cooperating schools and institutions, both public and private, under the mentorship of highly experienced professional teachers.
