Master Of Science In Cosmetic Science

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

 

Centro Escolar University , Graduate School offers the new program M.S. in Cosmetic Science. It is the first of its kind in the Philippines . The program was developed in collaboration with the Philippine Society of Cosmetic Science (PSCS), an organization of practitioners from the cosmetic industry.

 

The course is designed to enable practitioners to learn the latest advances in the field of cosmetics and to help students to develop skills that can lead them to achieve supervisory assignments. Its target clientele are graduates of allied sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Education major in Science, Dental Medicine, and Doctor of Medicine) who wish to launch an entrepreneurial career in cosmetics.

 

 

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

 

  1. To develop the knowledge and skills of the students in formulating cosmetics, toiletries, and fragrances that can lead them to achieve supervisory assignments.
  2. To provide entrepreneural skills among students who wish to launch a career in cosmetics.
  3. To value the importance of natural resources and sustainable development in business and industry.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 

Admission requirement include graduation from CHED's recognized academic institutions with a baccalaureate degree in an allied science (Biology, Biochemistry, chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, Physical therapy, Education major in science, Dental Medicine and Doctor of Medicine). Graduates of Bachelor of Arts, and other non-science majors must complete the following subjects in the undergraduate:

 

Organic Chemistry 5 units (3 units lecture and 2 units laboratory)
Microbiology 5 units (3 units lecture and 2 units laboratory
Analytical Chemistry 5 units (3 units lecture and 2 units laboratory
General Botany 5 units (3 units lecture and 2 units laboratory
